Saturday, October 3, 5:00 PM,
Etcetera Jazz Club, c/o 4155 S Roslyn St. Denver, CO 80327
I am delighted to announce that I will be hosting the event "Jazz & Art in the Yard," where I will be showing my recent works of art and performing in duo with pianist Annie Booth, one of Denver's most talented jazz pianists. As the title suggests, the setting of the event will be our spacious back yard. In case of adverse weather we will move the event indoors.
About the Jazz...
Annie Booth and I will be playing songs from my albums Preface to a Dream, So Cool, and Numbers (to be released), besides a selection from the Great American Songbook.
Annie Booth is a pianist and composer based in Denver, CO. Growing up in a musical family in Westminster, CO, she began playing the piano at a young age and became interested in jazz in high school. She went on to study music at the collegiate level, earning a BM in jazz piano performance from the Thompson Jazz Studies Program at the University of Colorado-Boulder in 2011.
Annie has performed all over the world on several luxury cruise lines and these days she is an active performer on the Denver jazz scene both as a sideman with several projects and as a bandleader of her own. She received an ASCAP Young Jazz Composers Award and the 2015 Westword "Best In Denver" Music Award in the jazz category. She released her debut album, Wanderlust, in October 2014 on the Dazzle Recordings label. For more information about Annie please visit annieboothmusic.com.
About the Art...
I will be showing recent works from the watercolor series "Hyperbotanics," and a collection of botanical studies. Whether you are considering acquiring a work of fine art or you just want to see my work in reality, it will be a unique opportunity for all of you to gain a better understanding of my art.
Of course my "permanent collection" of oil and acrylic paintings will also be on show throughout the house. For more information about my art please visit birdinyardwitheye.com. To see what I am currently working on, check out my latest blog post on my art website!
